Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, New Hampton with Phil Glaser, Bill Noehl, Nick Noehl, Jesse Rusch, Dale Schmitz, and David Schmitz serving as pallbearers.

Madella was born July 11, 1946, to John and Leona (Kramer) Noehl in New Hampton. She grew up on her family's farm east of town. She received her education at a rural country school through grade three, attended St. Mary's Catholic School, and graduated from New Hampton High School with the class of 1964.

Born with a bright and inquisitive mind, Madella enjoyed reading throughout her life and was a keen observer of the world around her. She appreciated the small, unique and unusual things in life, as well as a good mystery, and looked forward to visiting Decorah every July to enjoy Mabe's Pizza in celebration of her birthday. Her dry wit, shared with those closest to her, will always bring laughter and joy to their memories.

Madella is survived by her loving family, including her brother Bill (Linda) Noehl of New Hampton, her sister Laura (Dale) Schmitz of Charles City, nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Jesse) Rusch of Cedar Falls, Nicholas (Leslie) Noehl of New Hampton, Lisa Schmitz of West Des Moines, David (Lori) Schmitz of Dubuque and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and other family members.

Madella's family would like to express their grateful appreciation to St. Croix Hospice and hospice nurse Katie for their compassionate care and advocacy, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy One in New Hampton.

Memorials may be given to the New Hampton Public Library.
