Obituary for Lenos Connor

Lenos Graeser Connor age 79 of Nashua, IA, died Friday, March 1, 2019, at his home.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home – Olson Chapel in Nashua. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua with Sean Connor, Bryan Connor, Lindsay Connor, Tori Schilling, Matthew Schilling and Les Gaede serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Milt Gaede, Vern Bockhaus, Larry Fisher, Bill Vaughn, Reed “Odie” Dietz, Ed Koenigsfeld, Clarence Ensign, Jerry Dietz and Lee Fisher
Friends may greet the family from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home – Olson Chapel in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Lenos Graeser Connor was born May 19, 1939 in Waverly, IA, the son of John and Nora (Graeser) Connor. He attended school in Richland before going to Nashua High School where he was a 1958 graduate, in large part thanks to his high school sweetheart he always joked. While in high school he was an all-state and all-conference football player. That high school sweetheart was Kay Walsh. The couple starting dating when Kay was 15 and were married on January 21, 1961 in New Hampton. To this union two children were born.
He started working for John Deere in 1959 working as a machinist for 30 years. Also farmed their acreage in Ionia.

Lenos enjoyed horses. Breeding and racing them were two of his favorite things. He was a long time member of the Nashua Trail Riders, the UAW 838 Union, the ITBOA, founded the AHC, and a co-founder and officiant of the Turtle Races. Lenos was always a jokester and had fun with everything he did.

Lenos is survived by his wife Kay Connor of Nashua, IA; one son, Jay (Kimberly) Connor of Ionia, IA; one daughter, Lorie (Lee) Fisher of Nashua, IA; grandchildren, Lindsay Connor, Sean Connor, Bryan Connor, Tori (Matt) Schilling; step grandchildren Brian (Tiffany) Fisher, Christie (Bradley) Mason, Carrie Fisher, Josh (Lacy) Fisher, Jordan Fisher, one great-grandchild Clarence and eight step grandchildren; two sisters, Marva Eck of Elgin, IA; Shirley (Ed) Koenigsfeld of Overland Park, Kansas; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law Ed Eck; one great-grandson Lenos Ensign.
