COVID-19 Update

New Guidlines for Gatherings Effective June 1st

Beginning June 1st, social, community, recreational, liesure and sporting gatherings, which include funeral visitations, of more than 10 people may be held, however, the following provisions must be followed:

Capacity is limited to 50% of normal operating capacity (indoor and outdoor) to ensure adequate space for groups.

The gathering organizer must ensure at least six feet of physical distance between each group or individual attending alone.

The gathering organizer must implement other reasonable measures under the circumstances of each gathering to ensure social distancing of gathering participants, increased hygiene practices and promote other public health measures to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Any social, community, recreational, leisure and sporting gathering or event of more than 10 people that does not comply with these requirements shall continue to be prohibited at all locations and venues.

All vulnerable Iowans should limit their in-person interactions and exercise care and caution when engaging in any  necessary interactions.

  • In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are facing many challenges in the funeral industry.  Rest assured, our staff is ready to assist families during a time of loss.  We have invested in equipment and software to allow the live streaming of services through our Facebook page.  This will allow family and friends to be able to mourn a loss, without fear of exposure.  We continue to be vigilant in efforts to keep up to date with the latest information provided by State and Federal Agencies.  Our prayer is that in a short time we will be able to gather again to "Celebrate a Life" together.

For over one hundred years, families have trusted Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory to serve and care for their loved ones. Three generations of Chenoweths plus Gary Olson and now three generations of Hugebacks along with their son-in-law Drew Johnson continue the promise to provide excellence in service and compassion during your difficult time of loss.

Offering the best value in funeral pricing is very important to us. We believe in tailoring our services to meet the budgets of all families. That is why we provide the most competitive funeral pricing in our area and welcome discussing our prices with you. All price inquires will receive a prompt response. We value your trust.
