Obituary for Charlotte Wuttke

Charlotte Wuttke age 82 of New Ulm, MN, formerly of Fredericksburg, IA, died Monday, October 9, 2017, at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye, MN.



Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg with Pastor Mike Christie officiating.



Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with Marvin Steege, Darrel Steege, Calvin Steege, Paul Brandenburg, Richard Ross, and David Ross serving as pallbearers.



Friends may greet the family from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg prior to the funeral on Friday.



Charlotte Ann Wuttke was born February 23, 1935, in Alpha, IA, the daughter of Marion and Vera (Lickess) Brandenburg. She attended country school and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1953. Upon graduation, Charlotte started working for the Fredericksburg grocery store for several years. During high school she met a young boy name Richard Wuttke, the couple dated a period of time before being married on November 18, 1956, at the United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg. To this union, two children were born.



Charlotte worked at Stork hatchery in Fredericksburg where she was in charge of a department who specialized in preparing goose eggs so they could be used by artists to create art. She then started the first pre-school in Fredericksburg out of her home, running it for several years. Charlotte became owner and operator the Lunch Wagon, providing food for attendees of local auctions. The couple relocated to New Ulm, MN, in 1998. Charlotte did a variety of activities that kept her busy in New Ulm.



Charlotte enjoyed fishing, bowing and card club. She enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales with Richard where she was always looking for the next treasure. Charlotte enjoyed spontaneous day trips to the casino.



Charlotte is survived by one son, Bruce (Janna) Wuttke of Mason City, IA; one daughter, Amy Sansfield of Kernville, CA, one brother, Clifford (Rhoda) Brandenburg of Tucson, AZ; three sisters, Virginia Conklin of West Union, IA, Darlene Steege of Fredericksburg, IA; Beverly (Everett) Hyman of Oelwein, IA; four grandchildren, Andrew Wuttke, Logan Lines, Amanda Wuttke, Hunter Lines.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard in 2005; one brother, Amos Brandenburg; five sisters, Leitha Ross, Donna Klotz, Mavis Laabs, Marian Briggs, and Verla Niemann.
