Bernice D. Kramer, age
81 of New Hampton died Monday evening March 10, 2008, at
the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Public Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday,
March 13, 2008, at the New Hampton Cemetery with Rabbi
Stanley Rosenbaum of Sons of Jacob Synagogue, Waterloo
presiding.
A private family visitation will be held at the Hugeback &
Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton. 641-394-4334

Bernice Dennison Kramer was born in Brooklyn, New York
on October 29,1926, the daughter of Leo and Gertrude
Dennison. She moved to Los Angeles where she met and
married Harold Kramer in Reno, Nevada. They moved back to
New Hampton in 1951 where they raised their four children,
Barbara, Jerry, Mark and Lisa.
Bernice was active as a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub
Scout Leader. In 1971, Bernice became a business leader in
New Hampton with the opening of her Mode O’Day store.
She was very active in the Chamber of Commerce as well as
a precinct leader. Bernice was a long time member of the
Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Waterloo.
Bernice loved to play cards and participated in pool
leagues and tournaments, and lived a full life with family
and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children,
their spouses, and her seven grandchildren. She was
overjoyed with the birth of her first great-granddaughter on
February 12, 2008.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Kramer Dibble
(Steven) of Long Grove, IL and Lisa J. Kramer of New
Hampton; two sons, Jerry (Joni) Kramer of West Bend, WI
and Mark (Kris) Kramer of New Hampton; seven
grandchildren, Allison Karmer Wallace, Justin Kramer,
Jacob Dibble, Rachel Njus, Rosanne Njus, David Kramer and
Michael Kramer; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle
Wallace; one sister, June D. Rachman of Long Island,
NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and
Gertrude Dennison.
