Alden Lee Jarchow, age 72
of Lawler, died Tuesday
morning May 13, 2008, at his home of natural causes.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M.
Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Hugeback & Chenoweth
Funeral Home in Fredericksburg (563) 237-6212 with Pastor
Barbara Mann officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Alpha Cemetery
in Alpha.
The family will greet family and
friends from noon until service time on Friday at the
Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Alden Lee Jarchow was born April 6,
1936, at Maynard, Iowa, the son of Dale W. and Florence M.
(Cummings) Jarchow. He attended rural school at Hawkeye
Windsor # 9 through the 8th grade.
He was united in marriage to Norma
Pierce on November 30, 1953. To this union seven children
were born. They later divorced. Alden farmed and drove
truck. He had worked for Stone Implement in Lawler until
failing health forced him to retire.
Alden loved to work with animals. He
had many dogs, cats and goats. One of his nanny’s had a
rare set of triplets of which he was really proud.
He is survived by four daughters,
Jackie Sheffner, Janice (Steve) Johnson all of
Fredericksburg, Joyce Peyton (Reed Dietz) of Nashua and
Lorna (Eugene) Zeien of Marengo; two sons, Brian (Darla)
Jarchow of West Union and Leroy (Kim Blue) Jarchow of
Fredericksburg; his daughter-in-law, Deanna Jarchow of
Fredericksburg; two sisters, Priscilla (Fred) Reisner and
Rachel Jarchow all of Fredericksburg; one brother, Steve
(Cindy) Jarchow of Hawkeye; 21 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Alden was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Jarchow;
his wife, Norma Jarchow; his parents and a brother, Rollis
Jarchow.
