Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March
20, 2008 at St. John's United Church of Christ -
Pleasant Hill rural Nashua with Rev. Charles Dorsey
officiating. Mary Jo Stille will be the organist
accompanying the congregation singing, "Amazing
Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross" and
"How Great Thou Art".
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery rural
Nashua with LaVern Stille, Donald Stille, Daniel
Stille, Steve Hauser, Philip Hauser and David Hauser
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday,
March 19, 2008 at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral
Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the
church on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to St.
John’s United Church of Christ, 10009 Union Ave.,
Nashua, Iowa 50658.
Theophil Theobald Hauser was born December 7, 1918,
on the family farm in Butler County, Iowa, the son of
Frederick and Amelia (Litterer) Hauser. He attended
country school and graduated from eighth grade. He
then farmed with his father and later purchased a farm
with his brother Leonard. In 1948, he moved to his
farm on County Rd B-60 west of Nashua and farmed and
milked dairy cows until retiring at the age of
77.
Theophil was united in marriage to Rose Ann
Matthews at St. John's United Church of Christ in
April of 1968. To this union they adopted a daughter,
LuAnn Rose Hauser. They were later divorced.
Theophil was a lifelong member of St. John’s
United Church of Christ - Pleasant Hill. He liked to
visit with people and always thought of others before
himself.
Theophil is survived by his daughter, LuAnn (Eric)
Laughridge of Nashua; two grandchildren, Wade and
Abigail Laughridge; two brothers, Eldon (Evelyn)
Hauser of Clarksville and Paul (Joyce) Hauser of
Hampton; two sisters, Helen Stille of Nashua and
Luella Stirm of Charles City; a sister-in-law, Edna
Hauser Kohls of Greene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother,
Leonard Hauser; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Stille
and Edwin Stirm.
