Susie A. Hauser,
age 78 formerly of Powersville and Charles City, Iowa, died Friday
evening April 4, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab
Center in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Hugeback & Chenoweth
Funeral Home in Nashua with Pastor Tony Nester and
Associate Pastor Michelle Shoger officiating.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory
Gardens at rural Charles City with Jim Hauser, David
Hauser, Denny Wentworth, Jerry Ott, Clifford Henderson and
Dirk Larsen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers
will be Sue’s grandsons, Ryan Hauser, Christopher
Hauser, Tony Wentworth, Delmer Fenton and Brian Keith.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8
p.m. Monday and one hour prior to service at Hugeback
& Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua. Memorials may be
directed to the family.
Susie A. Hauser was born April 1, 1930,
in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Schipper)
Wiebrand. She moved to Iowa with her family and attended
Pleasant Grove School in rural Clarksville.
She was united in marriage to Raymond
T. Hauser on August 14, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota. To
this union seven children were born. They lived in Marble
Rock from 1948 until 1953 when they moved to Greene. They
moved to their farm at Powersville in 1962. Following
Ray’s death on September 14, 1999, Sue remained on the
farm until moving to Charles City in 2003.
Sue was a member of Washington Chapel
United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. She loved to play
Bingo and to work in her lawn, especially mowing.
She is survived by her six children,
Linda (Jerry) Ott of Marble Rock, David (Janet) Hauser of
Fredericksburg, Kathy (Clifford) Henderson of Elma, Karen
(Denny) Wentworth of Waverly, Connie (Dirk) Larsen of
Washington and Jim (Celane) Hauser of Stout; 14
grandchildren, Melissa Fenton, Angela Ott, Christopher
Hauser, Ryan Hauser, Sarah Fitch, Amy Henderson, Anthony
Wentworth, Michelle Shoger. Abigail Charlier, Amberyl
Hauser, Kaitlyn Pryor, Morgan Hauser, Katryna Hauser &
Joshua Hauser; 20 great-grandchildren, Madison, Cole &
Caitlyn Fenton, Tyler, Dylan & Gabrielle Keith,
Taylor, Olivia & Alexis Hauser, Jasmen Hauser, Alex
& Michealla Logue, Blake, Kaydence & Kiya Fitch,
Faith Dixon, Anastasia Wentworth, Grace Shoger and
Nicholas Charlier.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in
1999; a son, Alan Ray Hauser; two great grandsons, Jordan
Fenton and Anthony Keith; her parents; two sisters,
Henrietta Wiebrand and Wilma Haut.
